“There are no foreign lands. It’s only the traveller, who is foreign.” (Stevenson)

This is essentially not a travel blog. I’ve lived in Shanghai since Sept, 2010 and planning to stay on longer to learn about the impossible language. And in this new setting, feeling sometimes as if I were from a different planet, I intend to collect some of my, shamefully prejudiced yet not ill-willed, impressions here.

Now, I’m looking forward to getting my laptop fixed soon, so I can take my time then pay a monthly fee to some obscure Chinese company to access the otherwise censored sites and edit all posts properly. As Jonathan, a Canadian-born Chinese friend, said this afternoon: Everything’s possible in Shanghai. Just pay for it.

‘Till then, ever so grateful to my neighbour and friend, tres jolie Angele, for letting me bogart her Mac!

Thanks for visiting my site and clicking the like button. ChangZhou is close to Shanghai with much the same weather and citizenry. Looking forward to hearing from you again.
